HEART SONG

When Bea was preparing for her second open heart surgery, Brodie wrote her a song.

When he recently recorded it, he decided to make a video documenting some of

what Bea has been through with her surgeries and her adoption as an accompaniment.

The process has been a blessing in our family to say the least.

So many memories...

I love Bea's story. I love Brodie's musical heart.

And I've loved the creative journey we've shared making Heart Song.

AFTER DINNER WALKS

Some of the sweetest memories I'll cherish from our time on the beach.

With my people.

We've been praying for months for God's will to be clear.

"Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving."
Colossians 4:2

We've waited and searched and prayed and remained still before the Lord...

"Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him."
Psalm 37:7

And He has spoken.

"Call to me and I will answer you."
Jeremiah 33:3

He's brought an opportunity to us from those who know His voice.

"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me."
John 10:27

He's answered prayer in undeniable ways, overcoming obstacles and opening doors no man could open.

"For nothing will be impossible with God."
Luke 1:37

And so we prepare to leap again, trusting this is His perfect will, regrowth happening,
new beginnings awaiting, and following Jesus as He's readying us to sink down deep new roots.

"Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord.
He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream,
and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green,
and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit."

Jeremiah 17:7-8

OLIA'S DAFFODILS

From her birthday last year and now in full bloom...just in time for the first day of spring!

And come to find out, daffodils symbolize rebirth and new beginnings...which makes sense as they pop up first each year to tell the world that spring is here. I'm thankful for God's reminders of His goodness today through these happy little sunshine flowers and for the smile on my daughter's face. Few things delight Olia as much as flowers!
