not because of anything we have done or can do, but because of what He has already done!
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son,
that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."
that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."
John 3:16
"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing;
it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast."
Ephesians 2:8-9
Our faith is grounded in the inerrant Word of God, by which we seek all answers for all things.
"All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work."
2 Timothy 3:16-17

The Bible teaches us that although God created a perfect world in the beginning, sin entered the world through one man, Adam, and ever since, "all men have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23) But, because He so loved the world, God sent His only son, Jesus Christ, to become flesh, live among us, and save us from our sin. Jesus, the Savior of the world, would come to earth as a man and live a perfect, sinless life, then offer Himself as a sacrifice for our sin. But why would He need to do this?
After our earthly death, we will go on living forever. The question is...where? There are only two options and they are heaven or hell. Hell is eternal separation from God where there will be "weeping and gnashing of teeth." (Luke 13:28) On the contrary, heaven is eternal life in the presence of God where He will "wipe away every tear, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away." (Revelation 21:4) Because God is holy, He requires us to likewise be holy in order to dwell with Him in heaven. But, because we are not holy in our sinful nature, this entrance into eternal glory requires cleansing from our sin through an atoning sacrifice...and this is why Jesus came.
Through His death on the cross, perfect, sinless, holy Jesus paid the penalty we deserve for our sins so that God might look upon us and see the righteousness of Christ credited to us. Thus, just as sin entered the world through one man (Adam), salvation is offered to us through one man (Jesus). (Romans 5:17) The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ provides life everlasting for those who believe in Him and follow Him by obeying Him out of love for Him. This offer of the free gift of salvation is available to all who call upon the name of the Lord and it causes us to overflow with great joy!
But the gospel doesn't stop there...

Salvation results in an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ which yields a process of sanctification in the lives of true believers, whereby those who know Him become more like Him with each passing day through repentance, forgiveness, the pursuit of holiness, and the equipping of the Holy Spirit. This is a gift from God, not because of works or anything we can do on our own, but merely by His grace and love while we are undeserving sinners. Because this gift is so great and so unmerited, we worship and praise and thank the Lord for saving us! We fear Him, revere Him, and therefore desire to please Him in all that we do. We long to become more like Christ as His followers. Repeatedly, as a consequence of our sinful nature, we will sin against God, yet through repentance (that is turning from and fleeing from our sin), forgiveness is ours through faith in Jesus Christ and as a result, we get to enjoy a beautiful relationship with Him, overflowing with love and great hope for the future.

It is our prayer that we might shine the light of Jesus in a dark world and in doing so lead others toward saving faith in Jesus Christ. By God's grace, as His love and joy overflow in our hearts, we pray that we might become more like Him with each day we live as we grow in intimacy with our Savior. Since we realize it is the work of the Holy Spirit in our hearts that produces any and all good fruit, we give God the glory for anything good which shines from Him. But when we sin, which we do daily, we thank God for Jesus' death on the cross which saves us from the penalty of our transgressions.
As we acknowledge that our salvation and sanctification come from Him, we are compelled to live a life of worship and gratitude before the Lord, thanking Him for saving us. We realize that there is nothing inherently good about us, but rather the only good in us flows from the Holy Spirit of God who dwells within us and we thank Jesus for interceding on our behalf.
We cannot earn salvation. There are no steps involving works which can help us to achieve glorification after death and throughout eternity. We are totally dependent upon God's grace which is why we worship Him when He changes our lives from the inside out, enabling us to live more like Jesus.
To God be the glory for what He has done, what He will do,
and what He is perpetually doing at all times in all lives on earth and eternally!
WE BELIEVE:
We believe that there is one God, an infinite, all-knowing Spirit, perfect in all His attributes, eternally existent in three persons:
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (The Trinity).
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (The Trinity).
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal return in power and glory....yet to come!
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling every Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God and it's 66 books of God-breathed Scripture are the only true source of God's revelation. Therefore, we seek to know and understand the Bible as our guide for all matters and we trust we can find in Scripture the answer to our every quandary. It is sufficient. (2 Timothy 3:16-17) God's Word is clear, there are serious consequences for those who add to or subtract from God's Word. (Revelation 22:18-19)
We believe that all men are lost sinners as a result of the fall of man in the very beginning of human history and must turn to Christ in saving faith and repentance through regeneration by the Holy Spirit. This faith in Jesus is the only avenue to heaven and eternal joy and communion with Jesus Christ, and salvation is available to all who call upon the name of the Lord.
"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'"
John 14:6
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost - the saved to eternal life with Christ and the lost to eternal punishment in hell, for God is a God of perfect justice and He must punish sin...but there is hope!
We believe that those who put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He is the Son of God, committing their lives to Him, have hope to receive the free gift of salvation. Salvation through the atoning death of Jesus when He gave His life for us on the cross means we are forgiven of our sin and receive the perfect righteousness of Christ in exchange. We don't deserve this, but it is a merciful gift we are offered. This is not based on the merit of human works, but rather it is a free gift from God,
because of His grace and mercy and love.
because of His grace and mercy and love.
"But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
Romans 5:8
We believe that when we receive this free gift of salvation, we enter into an intimate relationship with Jesus and thereby grow in holiness and His likeness through the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives. This is called sanctification and regeneration. Again, this is not based on works, but rather an abiding fellowship with Christ that produces good fruit in the lives of those who know Him. When we truly know Him, we will LOVE Him...and when we love someone, we desire to be with that person and we desire to please that person. This is the natural byproduct of being yoked with Jesus Christ. We long to be more like Him, to obey His commands in Scripture, to grow in holiness because He is holy, and inevitably, we begin to live our lives joyfully pursuing righteousness and purposely fleeing from evil.
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control."
Galatians 5:22-23
We believe that as our love for Christ grows, and therefore our desire to spend time with Him- at His feet, in His Word, in prayer, we will also desire more and more to serve Him and others with our lives as we read and obey the commands of Scripture. This outward expression of His love, this overflow, is not a burden or duty, but rather our heart's greatest desire, compelled by love for Jesus Christ and the fear of the Lord. Increasing faith naturally yields increasing good works. This too is a gift from God, and so He is glorified as a result of His workmanship in our lives through the power of the Holy Spirit.
"Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man."
Ecclesiastes 12:13
"Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man."
Ecclesiastes 12:13
"For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all,
therefore all have died; and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves
but for him who for their sake died and was raised."
therefore all have died; and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves
but for him who for their sake died and was raised."
1 Corinthians 5:14-15
"In the same way, let your light shine before others,
so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven."
Matthew 5:16
"In the same way, let your light shine before others,
so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven."
Matthew 5:16
"So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead."
James 2:17
"For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments.
And his commandments are not burdensome."
And his commandments are not burdensome."
1 John 5:3
God's Word tells us that all who call upon the name of the Lord will be saved. (Romans 10:13, Acts 2:21)
Ask, seek, knock and the door will be opened to you. (Matthew 7:7)
Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. (Hebrews 11:1)
"If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord
and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
Romans 10:9
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.
This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it:
You shall love your neighbor as yourself."
This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it:
You shall love your neighbor as yourself."
Matthew 22:37-39
