We got Brodie a keyboard for Christmas, not just as a gift, but really more as an investment in his future.
The moment when he turned it on for the first time and touched the keys with pure inspiration it was...beautiful!
And he was...soaring!
His father and I watched and listened as he kneeled there, no bench even yet assembled, and filled our home with glorious melodies of which we'd never heard. Through tears, we asked him what he was playing. Full blown smile and a quick answer back he said, "I don't know. I'm just making it up."
Really?
He was just doing what his fingers and his heart have been aching to do, what he was created to do. And it was one of those moments in life, watching our child participate in his God-given gift. It was special. And he was soaring.
"I will sing of steadfast love and justice; to you, O Lord, I will make music."
Psalm 101:1
