(Dana Point Harbor)
...in our own hometown.
We've been having fun showing the kids around some of our old stomping grounds.
(Daddy's baseball field where I watched him play countless hours.)
(of course the cross)
(the cottage)
And memories for days...
We've enjoyed viewing Southern California with a new lens, having returned from the east coast.
(pointing to Mexico)
After our time at the Cabrillo National Monument in San Diego,
we decided we would enjoy being lighthouse keepers.
(only half-joking)
It's been special to share new memories with one another as we've taken time to walk through some of our history as a family here in California and to revisit the many places we've lived, learned, and grown...while also exploring new territory as tourists. It's funny how leaving somewhere so familiar can enhance our appreciation all the more in coming back, for which we're thankful. We were reminded again the other day by dear friends of the daily ministry in which we serve as parents and it spurred us on anew to remember that wherever we are and whatever we're doing, we are serving the Lord by serving our family and even being tourists here lately, walking down memory lane has all been part of that.
I wonder where we will explore next...?
"Only fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart.
For consider what great things he has done for you."

There's definitely something alluring about a lighthouse.
