It was 3 years ago, this Christmas, that we announced to our children we were expecting a new baby...the sweetest little Christmas gift. At the time, unbeknownst to us, that baby was already with Jesus, though I was experiencing every symptom of pregnancy. It's been a long road since then...8 miscarriages total in 3 years of highs and lows and Jesus as the constant...through it all. So, this week, when we saw our little 10 week old baby's heart beating strong on the ultrasound, arms and legs developing, movement from our little one...the miracle of God's creation and His gift of life felt even more miraculous now somehow. After all.

And, the highs, the lows, they're all a gift really, when we choose to look at it that way, when we realize the lows are what drive us to our knees and deepen our reliance upon our Savior. Ya, it's been through the hardest times that we've come to know His comfort, love, and tender grace the very most...and that's been a gift from Him too.
"But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong."
