"Jesus said to her, 'Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.'” John 4:13-14
We've been blessed with the opportunity to help distribute water filters to the orphanage where our children are, thanks to Hurley's H2O outreach. Something so simple, so taken for granted...clean water...it holds the power of life and death.
Our baby, drinking formula from contaminated water before, now has clean water. We thank the Lord for this delivery! Our dear friend's son had typhoid, but God has made him well. He now drinks clean water too. They all do. How thankful we were to receive this photo of the kids jumping for bubbles and notice the water bucket in the background! :)
But it doesn't stop there. Clean water for drinking and replenishing our flesh, though vital, is temporal. Living water, which quenches the soul, is eternal. In it is true life...apart from it is death.

"The Spirit and the Bride say, 'Come.' And let the one who hears say, 'Come.' And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the water of life without price."
Revelation 22:17
We hope to be able to continue to provide clean water to those who desperately need it, and we hope to quench these same souls with living water as we do. Our humanitarian efforts are really only as good as our spiritual efforts which accompany them. What good is clean drinking water to an eternally perishing soul? So, we offer physical aid as we offer spiritual life.
In Jesus Christ is the true living water. May we thirst for Him and come to know Him as we do. May we link arms with others who share a common goal. May we drink of that which is offered to us...living water, eternal life.
