BY GOD'S GRACE, MAY OUR FAMILY TREE BEAR GOOD FRUIT AS WE GROW TO KNOW & LOVE HIM MORE EACH DAY.

GOTCHA BEA!

"It all happened so fast. I was signing papers and then there she was!"
The text came through...our long awaited, invaluable update.

She gave Daddy a kiss and Big Sister got her to laugh.

Tickles became an instant favorite.

They snapped a few photos and then were off to the
civil affairs meeting, which didn't go quite as smoothly as planned.

Apparently, they wanted more information on me and specifically my passport since I wasn't there in person, though it's commonplace for one parent to travel in China. Normally it's not an issue. The circumstances resulted in heated exchanges with the translator who cared and ultimately lots of prayer and waiting...

In the interim, they all went to lunch as I sent out prayer requests here at home.
(We knew this was no surprise for God.)
Bea was sick to her stomach, poor sweetie, but was able to eat lunch after all.

I woke in the middle of the night to find that documents had been signed and adjustments made. (I wouldn't be hopping on a plane to China after all! ;)) And this is God's business. He's for us. He worked everything out as planned. He has orchestrated the events of this adoption and our lives for good, even when and especially when we meet trials along the way. We can trust Him!

And so, little one, she is ours! It's fun to watch her via Skype.
She's a busy little thing...funny too. Who knew??

Bea is curious. She's a singer. She has lots to do and enjoys eating. (Snacks and fruit apparently are her favorites.) Though initially she refused to even take her *light up* shoes off, she ended up liking the shower and seems to be going in and out of acceptance. She has sat by the hotel window at times and cried. She tried to make a run for it at one point. But within hours, that's already happening less and less. If I were her I'd do the same. Tiny precious girl...there's so much to try and understand.

It's all so confusing and seemingly wrong to her. She doesn't see yet the tapestry God is weaving.
How can she comprehend the love of a family when she's never known it? How can she feel secure?

But, she will. She will come to know love. Our love. God's love for her. She will know this love because the Lord chose this for her and He brings to completion what He begins. God set His great LOVE upon Bea and chose to give her a family. Our family. He's offered her a new start in life where she will be precious to us and cherished, provided for, and made to feel as special as she is for a lifetime!

(I'm seeing another Daddy's girl in the making already.)

Thank you, Lord, for bringing our Bea to us and for choosing us for her.
May we love her well with your love all the days of her life, exactly as you have planned.

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord,
plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope."
