28 DAYS OF LOVE

So, I got this idea this morning (considering there's been so much LOVE talk over here)...to take all 28 days of February to celebrate things I love and am thankful for. I'm hoping it will be a daily reflection of gratitude and stopping for both big and small moments.

Here's to 28 DAYS OF LOVE, starting with this moment in time...

There's so much to love and be thankful for wrapped up in this nostalgic photo. First of all, the cross and the freedom we find in laying our burdens down there. I'm grateful today for the love of God and the sacrifice of His Son. As I take the time to reflect on love and what it is, I remember that God IS love. And, His love for me and for everyone never ends, disappoints, fails. His love is constant, ready, forgiving, all-knowing, infusing, and contagious. God's love displayed on the cross is the greatest gift of all and it fuels everything else.

"God is LOVE."
1 John 4:8

Also, as I look back on that photo, I'm so very blessed and thankful for my husband's unconditional love for me and for his family, rooted in His love for the Lord. When I look at the photo above, remember the day, recall our surrender at the foot of the cross, I can see even in Brodie's posture his support for me. He's my calm, my other half, my best friend. I'm so thankful for you, Brodie! I love you!

"Two are better than one."
Ecclesiastes 4:9

"Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart,
and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30
