RETREAT WITH JESUS

"Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest a while."

Mark 6:31

 

For Brodie's birthday, I wondered what to give...eventually landing on the idea to offer retreat.

I booked our nostalgic spot and asked if he wanted to go, just him with Jesus. He said YES! And it's been beautiful.

 

"[Jesus] went up on the mountain by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone."
Matthew 14:23

 

He's read and prayed and surfed and been alone with the Lord. I can't think of a better place for my husband than at the feet of Jesus. He's our leader looking to the Leader and I know his heart...he'll follow. But we all need time with Him. We need to hear His voice.
We need to read the Word. We need to ponder what it says and take the time to pray, listen, be led. Jesus modeled the same.

 

"But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed."

Luke 5:16

 

Thank you, Lord, for this time of retreat for my husband. Thank you for shepherding our family shepherd. Thank you for his heart that longs to look like yours. Please bless my husband with your guidance, peace, wisdom and bring him back to us restored and renewed with excitement and a fervent spirit to lead us as a fruitful byproduct of this time away on retreat with you.
