BY GOD'S GRACE, MAY OUR FAMILY TREE BEAR GOOD FRUIT AS WE GROW TO KNOW & LOVE HIM MORE EACH DAY.

NEW HORIZONS

This summer our lives were touched by a special little boy.

God knows him by name. He loves him.

"O Lord, you have searched me and known me!
You know when I sit down and when I rise up;
you discern my thoughts from afar."
Psalm 139:1-2

He knew ALL the days He planned for this precious child of His before time began.

 "My frame was not hidden from you,
when I was being made in secret,
intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed substance;
in your book were written, every one of them,
the days that were formed for me,
when as yet there was none of them."
Psalm 139:15-16

He's known every heartache. He's been there all along...every day of this little boy's life.
He's been there. He will always be with this boy...no matter what...no matter where.

"You search out my path and my lying down
and are acquainted with all my ways.
Even before a word is on my tongue,
behold, O Lord, you know it altogether."
Psalm 139:3-4

God placed His love on this child and chose to allow him into our lives...to pray for him...to play with him.

This summer, thanks to the New Horizons For Children hosting program,
our hearts have expanded through meeting this little Chinese boy. We won't forget him.
We trust the Lord will remain close to him all the days of his life...especially now since his return to China.

We don't know what the future holds for this child of God, but the Lord does.
He planned it long ago. He created him fearfully and wonderfully with purpose.

"For you formed my inward parts;
you knitted me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made."
Psalm 139:13-14

Though solitary, this boy is not alone.
God will never leave him nor forsake him. He's promised in His Word and I believe.

“I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Hebrews 13:5

We're thankful for the New Horizons summer hosting program and the opportunity we've had to grow in love and compassion for one of God's children, to make a new friend. It's broadened our horizons and opened our hearts to more. It's contributed to our adoption story for which we're grateful, and the story isn't finished yet...

As I remember and pray, I'm comforted to know that Jesus will care for our friend.
He knows him and loves him and His plans are always good.

"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Psalm 147:3

 "Orphans are easier to ignore before you know their names.
They are easier to ignore before you see their faces.
It is easier to pretend they're not real before you hold them in your arms.
But once you do, everything changes." -David Platt
