So I'll admit, we may have gotten a bit carried away by the cuteness at the feed store.
But when we drove 45 minutes for the Easter Eggers only to find that someone had just come in before us and bought them all...and the sweet kids had pooled their money in a mason jar back home in order to buy them and they handled the disappointment SO well...
...we couldn't help but stop off at another location just in case there were others to bring home instead.

And sure enough, there were others...and more others.
(I think we came home with 15 more???)
And now we have chicks...and more chicks!
And aw, it's all so fun and they will lay multicolored eggs and Aida got herself a couple of Silkies to go with her Cochins and why not just go for it anyway cuz this is why we built our coop bigger than our original needs and this is why we moved here and....
