(2011...ages 10, 8, 6)
Same beach...though the tides have washed away the shore.
Much can happen in 5 years...
Much can happen in 5 years...
(2016...ages 15, 13, 11)
Same kids...though their shoes are all bigger than mine now.
How have we poured into them these last 5 years?
We stop to consider the foundation we're laying in light of what Jesus said:
"Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.
And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it."
Matthew 7:24-27
How will we pour for 5 more? Then 5 more?
How will we invest?
What type of seeds will be sown and how will we cultivate the soil of the hearts entrusted to our care?
"Let us not become weary in doing good,
for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."
Galatians 6:9
In 5 more years, these children of ours will be 20, 18, 16.
And much can happen in 5 years...
It goes fast.
Then they'll be 25, 23, 21.
And through it all, He remains faithfully the exact same God.
He is.
"I AM."
Exodus 3:14

"Of old you laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands.
They will perish, but you will remain; they will all wear out like a garment.
You will change them like a robe, and they will pass away,
but you are the same, and your years have no end."
They will perish, but you will remain; they will all wear out like a garment.
You will change them like a robe, and they will pass away,
but you are the same, and your years have no end."
Psalm 102:25-27
